Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing

Carolyn Head

Practice Manager - Veterinary Nurse

Carolyn started her career in veterinary medicine at Parramatta Veterinary Hospital in 2013 for work experience. She showed dedication in advancing her knowledge and skills and subsequently gained the position of Veterinary Nurse. She completed her Certificate IV in 2015 and continued to grow her skills here at Parramatta Veterinary Hospital. Carolyn moved to rural New South Wales in 2017 and worked at a mixed general practice. There Carolyn gained a wealth of knowledge treating and managing complex cases not commonly seen in the city due to the nature of rurality, being a long distance to a specialist and emergency hospital. Carolyn returned to Sydney some years later and after a short stint as a human Phlebotomist accepted a position at the specialist and emergency hospital SASH at North Ryde as an Emergency and Critical Care Nurse. Carolyn is fond of her time at SASH working with some of the most challenging cases seen in veterinary medicine. In 2024 Carolyn, in her words, “came home” to Parramatta Veterinary Hospital as the Practice Manager. She has made an impact to the overall knowledge and success of the hospital and strives for the team at Parramatta Veterinary Hospital to provide the very best veterinary care in Parramatta and its surrounding suburbs.

When Carolyn is not at work she can be found out and about exploring Sydney’s beaches and nature reserves. She enjoys spending time with her dogs Rosie, a Jack Russell Terrier, and Ellie, a Miniature Dachshund, at various parks and dog friendly beaches. Carolyn also has two cats, Marie a deaf, white Domestic long Hair, and Chip, a white Domestic Short Hair.
